Raytheon Stand & Deliver Corporate Campus Mentoring Program
Raytheon volunteers initiated the concept of “Corporate Campus” academic mentoring to help Stand & Deliver, a struggling mentoring program, become more robust and sustainable. Corporate Campus was piloted at Raytheon in Tewksbury, Mass, for the 2005-2006 school year. Corporate Campus worked out so well that having students matched with professionals and meet at their corporation is used throughout the Stand & Deliver program. Every school year for the past five years, over 100 students (8th through 12th grade) have come to Raytheon facilities for 90 minutes a week for one-on-one mentoring. The goal of the program is for experts in the STEM field to tutor students in the Math and Sciences. The most impactful piece of the program is the one-on-one mentoring where students receive advice and encouragement to help them believe in themselves. Raytheon Company supports the program logistically and financially which is why the program continues to thrive.
